In Iran’s deserts, the nuclear sands of time are running out.

Despite valiant efforts of various U.S. administrations, Tehran is closer to obtaining WMDs than ever before. Atomic ayatollahs are on the threshold of being able to bring armageddon to Tel Aviv.

Has it all been for nothing, then?

Not necessarily. I’m going to argue that — from a foreign policy standpoint — things are going so well for Iran right now that it may all work out. You can call me a naive appeaser afterward but let’s run down the list first, shall we?

Iran is nearly nuclear

As of late, Iran has hoarded loads and loads of highly enriched uranium. It’s now hovering at 84% enrichment, just shy of the 90% needed to build a nuclear bomb. And it can get to that much-desired 90% in a matter of weeks.

The acceleration in Iran’s atomic abilities is thanks to a vast increase in enrichment capacity and capability.

Capacity has been enlarged by building enrichment centrifuges en masse. Iran now feels safe to do so because it installs these centrifuges deep beneath mountain ranges — most notably the Zagros Mountains close to the capital. Previous enrichment locations were out in the desert, vulnerable to…
